 | Tape that has a unique ability to shrink with the application of heat. This characteristic makes the tapes useful in various industries as a processing aid during manufacturing as a simple method of applying external force to underlying part requiring compaction during cure. The product combines the high compaction forces of polyester shrink tape with the high temperature release characteristics of polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) film. The compression force characteristics of polyester based films make them effective and useful tools for consolidating and compressing composite parts in variety of manufacturing processes. SK2SHR180-2 is commonly used in applications where superior release characteristics are requested in combination with compaction forces at higher cure temperatures. The tape has a fused PVF release layer on one side of the film which is spesially designed to have zero transfer to the underlaying composite part. The release properties of this high temperature coating in combination with its non-transfer characteristics make it far superior to other release coated products, including silicone coated films.
